Continued from Mystified

((Admin permission given to force post the character of Mordred to move thread along))

Guiliana had arisen the following evening before Mordred had, as was typical of her since her turning. The minute the sun’s rays began to fall below the horizon, Guiliana’s small frame began to stir, as if the coming moon whispering in her ear to arise. And every night, she obliged. Her eyes parted, looking about her though she dared not move just yet.

Mordred was still in his slumber next to her, one arm around her waist, which had previously held her tight as if he were afraid she would be stolen away from him during the day. Guiliana had a feeling that she need not fear being stolen away, though she could not deny the possibility that she would steal herself away from him in the early morning or evening ours, as she had done before. She listened intently to the sound of his breathing, trying to detect how close he was to allowing the night to rouse him. Mordred’s breathing was still deep, and Guiliana began to take his arm, which was heavy with dead weight in his slumber, and moving it from around her.

Guiliana then silently, swiftly moved from his side, undetected… though Mordred did groan a little in his sleep and turn over. It caused her breath to get caught in her chest, holding it for a moment as if her own breathing threatened to wake him. After a few moments though, he was back into a heavy slumber, leaving Guiliana the ability to move freely in their makeshift lair to check on Ivana.

Small bits of light still shown through the cracks in the loft, which Guiliana managed to avoid as she snaked her way toward where Ivana rested, William still sitting right where she had left him, at her mother’s side. The human was growing a bit weary, having only taken a few catnaps during the day… Guiliana had made her way toward them during one of these catnaps, reaching out and placing a hand upon William’s knee to let him know she was there. The light touch startled him a little, though he made not a sound. William’s eyes fell on Guiliana, who knelt before him, whispering,
“Go… Rest…” William nodded, offering a little smile before he got up from his seat and made his way over to a pile of hay and linen’s, where he laid down and quickly fell asleep. Guiliana then took William’s former spot, resting her head back against the wall of the loft as she awaited the events of the coming evening.

The night came swiftly after Guiliana had snuck away from Mordred to rest near Ivana. By the time the sun had just set behind the horizon, only the sound of the light echoing in the distance, there came a single knock upon the door of the makeshift lair. There were those individuals who had wedged themselves away in various parts of Rome, looking for information or clues upon command of others. It was now that a lone individual found himself at the door of the Lair, hoping that any information he may have gleaned would prove satisfactory to the one who had requested it.

She arose when the sun had finally set on the horizon, her eyes slowly opening and adjusting to the fading light. Her lazy gaze turned to see Guiliana sitting against the wall next to her shamble of a bed, a small half smile slipping across her face. Those eyes then turned to see Mordred still resting across the way, his arms perilously empty of Guiliana’s form, which would surely cause anger to well within him again once he arose.

Drawing in a short breath, Ivana reached out toward Guiliana to rouse her from the nap she appeared to be taking. But once her hand landed on her arm, the knock came on the door which caused Ivana to jump about five feet in the air, her heart skipping a beat as she struggled to calm her breathing. Her eyes darted from Guiliana, to look at Mordred, then to the door. Ivana had a bad feeling that something was going to be yelled at or bashed in this eve.

Despite the appearance of her resting, Guiliana could feel that Ivana had awoken, and that Mordred had yet to rise this eve. As Ivana reached out to lightly touch Guiliana, she drew in a deep breath, intended to open her eyes when she felt the touch upon her arm. However, it was the knocking at the door which caused Guiliana to rouse in an alarmed fashion.

Guiliana’s dark gaze immediately looked to Ivana, where she jumped up quickly and hushed her, swiftly leading her to lay back down upon the bed. With a look, she told Ivana to stay there and not try to make waves, as surely Mordred would be awaked by the noise, and to find Guiliana not there would cause him to have woken up on a very wrong side of the bed.

Her form rushed over to where Mordred slept, intending to take her place once again at his side, though she was sure he would have already been awoken by the knock. All this took a matter of seconds, as she had utilized her vampyric speed, but would it have been enough to keep the peace?

Oh he was awoken by the knock, and instead of Guiliana finding herself arriving at his side to slip in unnoticed, she would be greeted by baring teeth and a raised hand that was inches away from slapping her precious little face.

Mordred had arisen at the sound of the knocking, jumping up to find the Guiliana was not as his side, his mind automatically jumping to the conclusion that the little wretch had snuck off again and for surely had bred another whelp of a creature. Then here she was, rushing back to his side with a look of worry on her face that expected to be slapped off her face. However, before that hand could make contact, the knocking had come to his ear again, a second knock.

His hand paused in midair, eyes darting to look at the door. Instead of slapping Guiliana, he reached out a rough hand and pushed her down to the ground by her shoulder. The push was enough, not even needing to say to her that if she dared move, he would do worse than slap her.

Mordred swiftly made his way over to the door, only glancing to see Ivana in the corner cowering, William inching back over by her like the pathetic little puppet he was. With a sneer, Mordred pulled the door open, reaching a hand outside and pulling the offending knocker within.

It was then that he saw it was the contact he had hired to gather information of the goings on in Rome, to which he blatantly asked through clenched teeth,
“Well?!”

The individual who Mordred had pulled into the room flinched and seemed to shrink when he was faced with the angry Nephthys. There was the feeling that this contact had walked in on something that he hadn’t quite expected, and was fearing that his life was going to end much sooner than he had hoped, and not in a way where he would be reborn into their world.

The contact was mortal, as this Nephthys had felt that it would be easier for a mortal to gather information than would anyone else… at least that’s what the young boy thought when he had snuck about, listening to whispers on the wind and sneaking in places that weren’t often snuck into.

And now as he looked up to Mordred with wide eyes, the boy was thinking he should have snuck elsewhere. The promise, or potential, of being embraced into their world suddenly seemed not worth it. With a loud gulp, the boy tried to talk, “The… the… They’re here. Th-th-th-” But the words would not come out. The boy’s nerves were suddenly getting to him, and his temperature was rising as his face flushed with anxiety.

Ivana’s heart was racing, her body shaking, her breath seeming to be stuck in her chest as her wide, fearful eyes watched as Guiliana hushed her and made her way to try to reclaim her spot at Mordred’s side. There was something in Ivana that wanted to run, an instinct perhaps that told her she was in a dangerous situation right now, yet still she remained.

She cringed when she heard Mordred awake and raise a hand to slap Guiliana, closing her eyes and wanting to look away, but afraid that if she did she would receive the same treatment before she knew it. Yet the knocking came again, and the slap never landed on Guiliana.

Ivana’s unsure gaze watched as Mordred moved from his resting place, her heart skipping a beat when Mordred looked in her direction. There was a sudden feeling in her gut as if she were being stabbed just by the look alone, her brows furrowing as she averted her gaze to look at William, who had now found his way to her side. She reached out an unsure hand for his, finding his arm and bringing it close to her, as if he could protect her from what was going to happen.

She did not look to see the messenger, or the interaction he had with Mordred. She had a good idea she knew what was coming, and she thought right now it would be best if she just stayed silent and tried not to make herself a target.

The young Nephthys expected to be slapped with such force that it sent her flying backward, leaving a mark upon her cheek that would bruise for days, or even have broken a bone – had it not been for her immortal blood. To her own surprise, and relief, the second knock on the door had been enough of a distraction for her to suffer just a rough shove to her backside.

She would not hide the anger or aggravation in her eyes as she watched him walk toward the door to check on the offending knocker, a hatred in them that could freeze men’s souls if she had such power. Oh how she wished to be rid of him, yet she knew this would not be so… Could not be so.

It was a fate she was somewhat resigned to, at least till her own plans were completed.

As those eyes turned to look to Ivana they softened, watching the eunuch boy, William, return to her mother’s side and embrace her. As if his feminine form – no matter how muscled it may be under the tattered rags – could protect her from Mordred. She could not help but offer a half smile to him before returning her gaze to the door, seeing as Mordred dragged the mortal informant in by the collar of his shirt.

It would not take a psychic to feel the eyes of Guiliana upon his back, seething with a fiery hatred. A trait which was actually one of the contributing factors to his infatuation with the girl. Her ability to be so passionate, to utilize her own femininity to her advantage… it was something that he wished to conquer, something he had set out to control.

And unfortunately, at this point… He had horribly failed in such a task.

However, at least this mortal whelp was here, blubbering and all but giving Mordred an excuse to shed some blood that he so desperately needed. Not so much for the kill, for the sustenance, but for a damn stress reliever. Having been stuck with Guiliana and Ivana had its benefits, but they were often overwhelmed by an overwhelming annoyance.

Mordred’s dark and empty eyes glared into the boy as he held him by the collar of the neck, feeling his body tremble and the heat waft off his flushing face. The boy was nervous, and he damn well should be.

The grip upon his collar tightened as he jerked him, teeth clenched as he hissed,
“I suggest you spit it out, boy.”

The boy visibly and audibly gulped when Mordred tightened the grip upon his shirt and jerked him with enough force that he could swear his brain was rattling in his head. It was certainly enough to cause a headache, and for there to be a falter in his sight as everything when dark for a moment.

“All of them… Sir… They’re here,” the boy said with another gulp. He wasn’t even sure what he was saying anymore, nor was he certain what he was even doing here. He should be at home with his family.

“There is to be a meeting, with them… and the Emperor, Sir,” the boy blurted out.

Ivana, had such a sinking feeling churn within her gut. What news came from the Mortal to which was shaken as if he was but a mere rag doll. It even made Ivana cringe, while grasping upon the eunuch's arm. Sure the mortal might not be able to protect her, but it aided in some sense of herself that she was somewhat protected.

Mordred was angry, and yet she had come to realize it did not take much to anger him, even when Guiliana  flying across the room she lowered her chin towards her collarbone, and drew knees closer against her breast, her fingers near biting into William's arm, before she peered through her downed lashes to see the softened smile from Guiliana. It had Ivana return a hint of a smile in kind, but her attentions were diverted towards Mordred.

What would he do with the boy? And what would the news spoken of bring Mordred to do next? though she'd an inkling, she would never surmise that she knew exactly what would transpire or what would not. Not when her mind let thoughts and memories slip through the loosed weaving of her mind.

Slowly she relaxed her hold upon William's arm, and looked up to the lad with a braver smile. Only to eventually release the appendage she'd gripped and shift so that her hands slipped to the floor on either side of her hips. This would aid her in slowly rising from her place upon the floor. Yet still she spoke nothing, as she looked between the group gathered in this room. Her gaze questioning
'what next?' But no sound serenaded from her throat or mouth to utter the question.

The boy was a blubbering idiot, that much was for certain.

Absolutely useless, as Mordred awaited the information he was supposed to be receiving from the mortal. The sneer upon his face was enough of a signal to his dissatisfaction as to the boys performance in his task. With a roll of his eyes, Mordred drew the boy closer, his words hissing through clenched teeth.

“Who… are here?”

His cold eyes bore into the boy, the last shred of patience quickly fading as Mordred drew in a deep breath, catching scent of the boys warm blood pumping furiously through his veins.

“I suggest specifics, boy… And I suggest you give them quickly.”

Even though she had averted her eyes from Ivana to watch the scene unfolding before her between the informant and Mordred, she could feel upon the air that Ivana was doing her best to relax, catching the sound of abated breath becoming slightly more normal, as well as the sound of William’s pounding heart in the tension of the moment. Guiliana wondered what it was precisely that William thought, being stuck with a group of nightwalkers, and he… having to all but babysit Guiliana’s own mother – who did not even remember that fact.

Guiliana looked back toward Ivana and William, seeing Ivana slowly begin to push herself to her feet, her gaze slowly traveling to look at the eunuch. Was he expecting anything to come from his service? Surely he must be wishing to get something out of this. Perhaps his own initiation into the night? It wasn’t really something Guiliana ever discussed with him when she hired him for the job… But then she did not really even tell him that it was to be vampires that he was going to be of service to, only that there was a weak minded woman that needed constant assistance and supervision.

A small frown slipped over her face then, her eyes turning once again to watch Mordred and the boy who was blubbering and being pulled even closer to Mordred. The words piqued her interest… They’re all here? A meeting with the Emperor?

Her eyes narrowed at the mention f the Roman Ruler, her body shifting so that she was in a slightly closer position to hear better what was said. The same questions were plaguing her mind when Mordred spoke again… Who was here? Who was to meet with the Emperor? Even before the boy replied, Guiliana’s mind was already churning with thoughts as to how this meeting could be infiltrated.

As he was drawn closer to Mordred, he could feel his cold breath upon his face, his muscles contorting in what could be construed as pain. The boys mind was suddenly not working, struggling to remember details he was so pressed for.

“Uhh…” he said with yet another gulp, his eyes darting from Mordred to look at the two women in the room. One in the corner was watching him with hungry eyes, while the other was slowly standing up. That’s when he noticed the effeminate looking boy who was also in the room, causing his own brows to furrow at the oddness of his presence with these monstrous creatures.

He was unable to focus on that thought though, as he was being pressed further for details, uncertain eyes looking back to Mordred as he tried to be of some use,
“Umm… Th.. The… The other vampires. A… Al… All of them, Sir.”

The boy gulped again, his face flushing bright pink from his nerves as beads of sweat began to form on his brow.
“L… Le… L… Leaders from a… a… all the c… clans. They’re meeting with the Emperor, Sir.”

There was a grin that formed in the darkness at seeing Mordred and hearing the boys heart about burst in his chest. Giddah may well be working to free the Authurians from the clutches of the Demonic influence, but he was truly more of a sadist... There was enjoyment that filtered through the old buzzard as he watched the scene, his own thoughts as to what to do with the boy racing through his old but still very quick brain. He had done well to shield himself from detection while the boy attempted to spit out the words, but the boys words weren't entirely true, but from a human standpoint and a child's at that, they weren't false either.

The very large Sumerian male finally came out from the shadows well in back of the boy in front of Mordred. The age difference Mordred would feel might be astounding to him, but Giddah did not expect him to show it, but his presence might well disturb the others within the room behind him. His voice was a deep baritone, deeper than perhaps most, but it fit his size. His eyes flitted between the boy and the Nephthys elder before him.

"What leaders of the Families could be found will be there. And a new 'clan' has been found...  But the boy knows little of the politics. My meeting with the Emperor will not be at the same time ... A separate meeting has been arranged."

Giddah's arms would cross over his massive chest as he watched the reaction of the boy and Mordred.

"Toying with your meal?"

Did Mordred want the information the boy could not possibly give? Was he going to bend the boy's mind to forget? Or would he just devour the boy and add to the body count that Giddah had already started to get vengeance upon those that had done the Authurians the greatest harm... as well as the descendants of those that needed to have wrath invoked, "truce" or no.

What was she to do? She was afraid for the boy, but would never dare step in between Mordred and what he was trying to obtain, and what of Guiliana a woman whom was familiar to her but not? She could tell that even she was not certain of what was happening or why but was curious enough to find out.

Still when the boy looked to her, as if wondering what was happening. Ivana drew the courage to step forward, even if she knew she might be backhanded or worse. " Enough.." She spoke out with authority that might have once been commanded so expertly once before in court that she could no longer remember being apart of, and to the point it even surprised herself at the tonation and stance she took.

Despite being ragged and dirty because of the accomodations they were staying in, she held about her a regal presence with her shoulders drawn back and her eyes looking from the boy and then to Mordred.  Yet no sooner had she said the words that another came from the shadows beyond the boy's frantic expression and spoke.

What did this have to do with them? The meeting of the clans? Ivana did not understand and even as she came to stand beside that of Guiliana, having left William alone behind her.  Her expression or perhaps it was her eyes conveyed the multitude of questions rising between the two women.  Yet would she dare to be bold still or would she shrink back into the warmth of her inner child like thoughts? Especially since she did not know how Mordred would react to what she'd spoken already.

She did not shrink though, but already her thoughts where sieving away. What was so important about the Emperor and this gathering? " Why does this concern us? " She asked at last despite the fear which trickled down her spine. It seemed Guiliana wasn't going to ask the questions, but she would, even if in a few moments she might forget having ever spoken out like this.

Mordred’s patience was running thin… and he hadn’t had much of it to begin with. The boy was stuttering, talking about things that did not really have enough details to appease Mordred.

His grip upon the boy seemed to tighten even more if that were possible, hungry and primal eyes gazing into the boys as if he were trying to dig out his very soul. And still, as he did so, his teeth were elongating into fangs as those eyes slowly looked from the boys eyes, to the throbbing vein on his neck.

And just as he was about to give into the craving… A shrill and annoying voice spoke out from behind him.

Narrowed eyes darted to look to the wretch that accompanied them, looking more like a leech than Mordred could ever recall. His initial instinct was to rip into her neck instead, but then there was yet another voice from out of the shadows behind the boy he still held within his clutches.

It was the feeling of age which overcame Mordred that caused him to come to his senses once again, to center himself, the grip slightly releasing on the boy’s collar as he let his thoughts drift away from the leech behind him.

“No… I don’t play with my meals…”

Mordred’s eyes then looked to the boy once more, trembling within his grasp. A look of disgust crossed his gaze before he spoke again, “And I definitely have higher standards… I would never feed upon someone who stutters or sweats so much.” The look of disgust did not fade as in a sudden and swift motion, Mordred’s hands moved to grip the boys head. With a quick THWAP, the boy’s neck cracked as Mordred twisted his head like corkscrew, breaking the neck as the body slipped into a heap on the floor.

Mordred then looked to the Authurian, a sneer upon his face as he spoke,
“What do you want?”

The fate of the boy was obvious… Even Guiliana was irritated by the boy’s stuttering and uncertainty, her eyes rolling as he started to try to explain himself. However, her emotions quickly were about to get the better of her when she heard Ivana’s voice, so remiscent of the Mother she knew at one time, call out as Mordred became closer and closer to ripping the boy to shreds.

Guiliana moved swiftly to stand a step before Ivana, instinctively, as she could only imagine Mordred’s reaction. She could see the anger in him, see it in her eyes, her own bosom swelling as she took a deep breath in preparation if she needed once again to sway Mordred from acting on his anger. However, just as the cunning look began to take her eye, yet another voice had echoed out from the distance, effectively distracting Mordred from his potential game of cat and mouse.

Her eyes fell upon the male who had appeared in the doorway, Guiliana not even flinching as Mordred dispatched the boy, as she was distracted by the seemingly overwhelming presence of the man. She allowed her gaze to travel along the Sumerian’s body, narrowing her eyes as she looked back up to him as Mordred sneered his question.

Giddah was most impressd with the Nephthys male's restraint as he knew full well how much they ~loved~ being around other Vampires... about as much as the Cyprians. He watched as the scene unfolded, not even raising a brow to the outburst of Ivana, nor the reaction of Guiliana, though he did note the protectiveness of the younger looking one to the older one.

His attention would come back to Mordred however as he dispatched the snivvling boy and hear Mordred's statement about not playing with his food. In a way, a waste of the blood granted by the boy, but that was Mordred's choice, as he had already planned to take care of his meal after his own form of snooping. Then came the question of "what he wanted" from Mordred. The smirk he held within would have been perhaps a bit too wide for any of the other three's liking, but he remained stoic faced.

"Wondering how the only Elder representative of a prominent family has been missed on the guest list to the meeting for tomorrow eve. Though... from my information gathering... there will be only two of the six represented as one I saw leaving last evening. So it will be apparently the Marileus and a Mazzon leading the discussions... besides this new 'clan' that I have heard only sparse information about. So I came here to make sure you were aware, with your inactivity at the Underground meetings, they are not able to afford you an audience at the same time as they, and most likely, the Nephthys interests will be overlooked as I watched and listened to the treastice agreements being put into place to present to the Emperor. The Cyprian involvement is minor, but was still taken into account. The Mazzon need very little from Rome, and though not involved in the core meeting has already met with the Marileus Elder that will be representing the collective of the Underground. The Marileus were the predominant factor, but then again, this is their territory. The Amenophis have apparently not been able to be reached and you are the first of the Nephthys to show his face, if only to me."

His arms would settled over his chest as he stretched his neck...

"Oh and mind you... they are looking to make contact with the Lycanthropes to help in this little endeavor of theirs. And...."

He seemed to pause on this one and he could have truly choked he would have...

"... someone mentioned getting in contact with what they think is a Forsaken..."

It would be, between the admittance of the involvement of the Lycanthropes and the Forsaken, the only time that his face would not be stoic. There was a sneer there of disgust, which was not directed at anyone in the room that was there.  His mouth opened and closed a bit as if he was trying to get off a bad tasting blood from his tongue, before he continued.

"I have a contact within their ranks, if you truly wish to be a part of this little venture, since one of the 'needs' was to find a representative of the missing families, namely Amenophis and Nephthys, that I can use to ... get you involved..."

He would wait to see what Mordred would do. The worst that could happen is that Mordred would tell him to piss off and he would leave. The best... that he would be contacting Nicholas, and add his own and this one to the guest list... For Giddah was not a stupid individual in the least. That calculating mind was well working an angle, for if a Nephthys was present, he doubted anyone would argue about him being present. With the exception of perhaps Lucian, Giddah was the only one within Rome that had a fairly accurate idea as to where the Nephthys would stand in this, more to the side of the Authurians than the side of the Marileus, for the Marileus crimes against the Authurians from the last war were well known throughout the families, and the Nephthys were the only one that didn't back the Julia in her decision of punishment, even if they did not jump to fight for them.

Oh yes how quaint was this? Mordred angered at her stepping in to defend the boy. Well of course she would, a mother's instinct was natural despite that she could not recall as to why it had been shortly there after. Yet Mordred's killing of the boy had her hackles rise just slightly, until Guilliana stepped forward in a protective stance. As Mordred sneered at her. She sneered back, but it was soon forgotten, as he tossed the lifeless body aside, and she reached for Guilliana's arm, as if to say.. 'Thank you' or ' no need to protect me child though it is appreciative.' she did not however vocalize these, and instead looked to the child laying deceased, as the stranger began to speak.

She listened to the exchange, and once again she knew utter confusion in what was being spoken of. Though the names.. they had a sense of familiarity to her, that she could not describe, nor grasp a hold of to truly figure it out upon her own. By the time the man was half-way through with his conversation with Mordred, she would loose interest and turn away from the three of the. Each still within hearing distance, but not so much sight difference, as she returned to William whom was looking a bit peaked or 'green' as it were.

Smiling softly she reached to William as she lowered to her place of 'rest' as it were, upon her knees and comforted William from what he had witnessed as a mother would a son. A son.. how she missed... Yet whatever image or thought such an action provoked it was gone like the leaf falling from an autumnal bedecked tree. sighing she turned from William after a few moments, and stared out a nearby crease in the building to the streets beyond the wall of the barn, for seeming no apparent reason.

Yet she was fully aware and taking in what this stranger had to say, and waited to hear what Mordred would think or rather.. do in light of the circumstances...

The thing that Mordred hated about being around other vampires was easy to pinpoint… And this Authurian was giving a prime example of that.

Other vampires, and people in general, spoke way too damn much.

The sneer remained on his face as he watched Giddah with a dull look, listening to the words that he had to say, but not showing the slightest bit of interest. Even when the Authurian made a face of disgust at the mention of the Lycans and the Forsaken, Mordred merely stood there with a disinterested and possibly bored look upon his face. When finally, the Authurian stopped speaking, Mordred arched a thin brow, crossing his arms over his chest as he spoke.

“And you thought that it was pertinent that you inform me of this trivial information?”

The information was indeed valuable, but to receive it from an Authurian, and not from Mordred’s own recruited spies? It was degrading and was testing Mordred’s patience.

Guiliana’s first priority was to ensure that Ivana was safe, and when she had gripped her arm and then made her way back toward William shortly after that, she allowed herself once again to breath. Her eyes had never left the sight of the Authurian before them, taking in every word that he had to say about the other vampire families, of a new family… and of Rome.

The mere mention of the Emperor allying himself with other vampires, lycans, and forsaken brought an equally disgusting taste to her mouth. But it was the thought that they wanted to know if they would stand with Rome that brought the anger to a head within her body. By the time Mordred had spoke, Guiliana’s form was all but shaking in anger. It wasn’t even a moment after Mordred has asked his question that she had stepped forward and spoke in a disgusted tone.

“We will NEVER stand with that pathetic excuse of an Emperor…”

She wanted to spit even having said the word, but she did not, her angry eyes locked on Giddah. Guiliana did not even think about whether she should be saying such a comment, or how Mordred would react. She was speaking on pure emotional anger in this moment.

Giddah was quiet through the reactions. He said enough and perhaps Mordred thought it too much, but then again, if he could find Mordred, the Lhaka that he had run across and the Marileus, especially the Generals, would only need to catch wind of the Nephthys scent to cause them more trouble than it was worth. The reaction of Guiliana gave reason for a smirk to be had. He looked her directly in the eyes. "That is for him as elder to decide, ~but~ the information is given that the boy could not garnish."

His eyes turned to Mordred and he looked at him for a moment. "I would at least make it seem as if you were playing nice and going to align with them to get in on the meeting. The Marileus have been digging around quite a bit and I know their representative has information that I have not been made privy to yet. He has a ~special~ one by his side as does one of the other families, this is already known. There was something he was trying to hide from the other families about Greece. Not that it would matter to you..." Giddah shrugged. "I have other important business to attend to. Enjoy your evening..."

Giddah would move three steps before vanishing and heading toward Babylon as his mind picked up on a message from one of his plants about someone snooping and causing trouble that Giddah had run across.

To:  A summons adhered to (In his own way)  (to catch him up to time)

The reaction of Guiliana was maddening to Mordred, and if not for the fact that an arrogant prick of an Authurian stood before he, he would have slapped her halfway across the room. However, something else was stopping Mordred from doing so.

It was something about the anger she was feeling, deep within her soul that was igniting every fiber of her being with shaking anger. With slightly narrowed eyes,  Mordred looked momentarily to Guiliana, wondering what about Rome and the Emperor made her so passionate in her hatred.

That would be attended to later, however, as the Authurian was talking… again.

Mordred returned his gaze to Giddah, who was yet again giving pieces of unwarranted advice.
“Yeah… Thanks,” Mordred would say in a blatantly condescending tone with an impatient wave as the Authurian departed. “Enjoy… puh… It’s already been tarnished with your filthy presence…” he would say before reaching forward and pushing the door closed. Then, ever so slowly, Mordred would turn on his heels and lock  eyes with Guiliana. While the normal look of impatience and anger would be in them, there would also be something else… Different… Intrigue.

The anger was still within her eyes, even as the Authurian departed, even when Mordred had looked to her with such curiosity. She did not even move when the door had been closed and  Mordred had looked to her. With a clenched jaw, her eyes remained locked on the door, her breath held.

She awaited whatever it was that Mordred was going to say… or do to her. She was in no position to barter or even sway his judgement, as there was far too much going through her head right now.

Guiliana still found it hard to believe that she was in the position that she was in, that Ivana was in such a position… When he was so clearly capable of easily having prevented such.
